About The Glittery Nurse

Glitter, Nurse, Emotional Incontinence, Nursing

I am an emotionally incontinent, awkward mouth breather, who is strangely attracted to glitter. I really dig sparkle and shine, and I’d like to think that a good attitude is the foundation for awesome, and a sense of humor the glittery soil from which my future will bloom.

Despite the many facets of my awkwardness, I’ve somehow managed to find and fall in love with a genuinely good man.  The best part is, I’m pretty sure he loves me back!  I can tell because sometimes he makes me tea and writes sweet notes to me on brown bag lunches.  Also he married me and we made babies.

We’ve made two babies in fact: a girl and a boy.  They both inherited their daddy’s awesome, and I’m trying really hard not to mess any of that up.  They are amazing little humans and I love them so much it spills out of my eyes sometimes.  Excuse me while I mop up the feels.

I don’t think I’ll tell you how old I am because nope. Let’s just say that I’m 25 plus shipping and handling.  I’ll leave you to decide how much handling has gone down. Careful.

I’m a late bloomer and I started a career in nursing only a couple of years ago. It’s exciting and messy and terrifying and meaningful all at once. I have so much to learn, but I’m lucky enough to have some great friends and mentors who let me bask in the shadow of their smartness. My master plan is to follow the smart people around, and try to soak up the excess wisdom they drop along the way. I’m still going to school in my spare time (haha spare time), and I hope to eventually get my masters degree.

In my opinion, a sense of humor is the minimum prerequisite for coolness. I don’t aspire to coolness, but I do have plans to improve my tiny piece of the world, or at the very least, become super awesome at living in it. You should join me! Fill in your details in that Glitter On Demand box so you won’t miss any of these shenanigans. You know you want to.
